Premises in Broughton are included in the Connecting Cambridgeshire programme to enable as many homes and businesses as possible to receive superfast broadband speeds (minimum 24Mbps).
BT have confirmed that further premises will be served by a fibre to the premise (FTTP) solution. This will enable premises to upgrade to superfast broadband speeds, or faster if they wish.
Installation of the fibre network is underway and once complete, it will undergo a commissioning process to test and secure links with the network, which can take between 4-6 weeks. After this, the structure will go live and residents will be able to order fibre broadband.
The broadband speed you will get depends on a number of factors including the length of your line from the telephone exchange or green roadside cabinet, the line quality, and the equipment and internal wiring within your premises.
Connecting Cambridgeshire and BT are working with Broughton Parish Council to keep the community informed of progress and we will update these pages when we have more details.
