Become a broadband champion!
We get – someone who can link us to your community so that we can keep everyone up to date with what’s going on in their area and let them know when superfast broadband becomes available. Our broadband champions are proving to be invaluable in raising awareness in their areas – it’s no accident that the take-up rates for new fibre broadband services in Cambridgeshire are already above the national average
You get – regular updates on progress, early notice of when things are happening in your area and posters/postcards to help you raise awareness of the new broadband services once they are live. Plus a nice warm feeling from helping your community.
Are you a champion?
You don’t have to be technically brilliant to help but you do need to have time, energy and a desire to improve the economic and social well-being of your area.
There are lots of ways to help
Our Broadband Champions:
- help us raise awareness of the benefits of superfast broadband
- are one of the links between Connecting Cambridgeshire and their community
- encourage their community to take advantage of better broadband services when they become available
Connecting Cambridgeshire has over 100 Broadband Champions, who are giving fantastic support to the programme by raising awareness of the roll-out of superfast broadband, having encouraged people to register their demand for it.
Now that roll-out has begun, it is critical that our communities and businesses can make full use of broadband services to realise the benefits they bring.
To support this, we are also looking for community Digital Champions to:
- Promote the benefits of broadband access
- Support and encourage internet use
- Arrange or support local events to highlight the campaign
You don’t need to be an expert and you can choose how much support you give depending on the time you have available.
If you would like to help others get online please look at our Digital Champion page for more information.
If you are interested in becoming a Broadband Champion for your area, please get in touch by emailing your contact details and the area of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough that you want to help, to firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be working with District, Town and Parish Councils to promote local projects to support the campaign. If you would like to be kept updated about these activities, please let us have your name and contact details using the contact us form.
